Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Michael and Jeff co-founded NewBound in 2019 with a vision to bridge the gap between visionary founders and a lack of consumer-centric capital. Before NewBound, Michael led Piper Sandler & Co.’s Consumer Investment Banking as Global Group Head, working with some of the world’s fastest-growing consumer brands. His deep transactional knowledge, strategic expertise, and leadership insights are invaluable to our founders and portfolio companies.
Michael is passionate about the outdoors and serves as an active trustee for The Nature Conservancy. He enjoys Minnesota summers and spends winters skiing with his two children in Park City, Utah.

Co-Founder & Incubation Advisor
Prior to NewBound, Jeff was the Global Head of Equities for Piper Sandler & Co., and led the firm’s equity research and sales and trading practice. He was previously a top-ranked Senior Equity Research Analyst, where he covered high-growth consumer brands, and was a frequent commentator on CNBC and Bloomberg. Jeff was the original architect and author of Piper Sandler’s “Taking Stock with Teens” annual report, which continues to be one of Wall Street’s most impactful publications.

Ron is a renowned operator and executive wtih experience spanning the consumer and technology sectors. Ron is the current Co-Founder and CEO of Código 1530, a high-growth tequila company with a global footprint backed by Pernod Ricard. Prior to Código, Ron was the CEO of Crocs where he grew the company to more than $1 billion in annual revenue.

Vice President
Maggie joined NewBound in early 2021 and leads NewBound’s investment focus areas of in beauty and personal care, pet care, and commerce enablement. Prior to NewBound, she was an Associate at Chicago PE firm Arbor Investments, where she executed middle-market leverage buyout transactions. Maggie began her career at Piper Sandler & Co. where she advised growth and late-stage consumer companies on strategic alternatives and M&A transactions.
Maggie is deeply passionate about cultivating community and access for women and minorities in finance. She is the co-founder and current chair of the Women’s Association of Venture and Equity’s National Junior Steering Committee and also serves on the Associates Board for RUSH University in Chicago. She is also a member of the Women on Boards Project.

Investor
Sydney joined NewBound in 2022 and is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and supporting NewBound's investments. Prior to joining NewBound, she was a Direct Lending Analyst at First Eagle Investments and a Venture Capital Analyst at Par Equity in Scotland, where she evaluated early-stage technology startups.
Sydney has a strong passion for emerging technology and started her career conducting big data analytics research while receiving a B.S. in Physics from Northeastern University.
